The Program on International Organizations, Law and Diplomacy (PIOLD) offers courses and networking opportunities in Washington, D.C. and Geneva, Switzerland that train law students and lawyers to work strategically within transnational institutions through public and private international law mechanisms including international litigation, global administrative law, human rights advocacy, and diplomacy. PIOLD is a unique program offered by American University Washington College of Law that invites distinguished speakers in Washington and Geneva to train participants on both theory and practice of international law, emerging transnational legal regimes, and changing diplomatic relations. Students learn from experts in a variety of cutting-edge legal fields in the classroom, through networking opportunities, and by exploring, as insiders, the practice of international organizations
