Susan Rose-Ackerman of Yale University, one of the foremost experts on the economic and jurisprudential aspects of corruption, along with her co-author Bonnie Palifka of ITESM at Monterrey, Mexico, will be presenting the second edition of Corruption and Government.

Loyola University Chicago’s innovative Master of Laws (LLM) in Rule of Law for Development program, or PROLAW, prepares students to become qualified and effective rule of law advisors. Offered at Loyola’s campus in Rome/Italy, PROLAW has now educated 104 highly qualified rule of law and governance professionals in its first five years.

The Community of Practice on Insolvency held its first conference on "The treatment of Shareholders' Rights in the Insolvency of Companies" on June 23, 2016 in Rome, Italy. Although the Paris Agreement and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) submissions are significant milestones, the challenge going forward will be turning the plans and goals set in NDCs into concrete actions. Countries are at different stages of planning for NDCs implementation and coherence with the domestic legal and policy frameworks will be critical to success or failure. This workshop aims to explore the legal aspects of NDCs, the challenges of their implementation and to present the case studies of the Brazilian and Mexican NDCs versus the policy and legal framework in their energy sectors.
